BETTER MANAGEMENT OF NATURA 2000 SITES

South-East European countries have different situations and they are at different levels of implementation Habitats and Bird Directives and have huge gaps in the management of “Natura 2000” sites. The objective of the project is to improve the preservation of habitats, nature and biodiversity in Natura 2000 areas, especially in wetlands (rivers, lakes or beach). The project contributes to achieve the goals stipulated by the Habitats Directive (92/43 EEC) by promoting the exchange of experiences and best practices between partners during the process of strategic planning and elaboration of action plans.

Partnership: 14 organisations from 7 countries (Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Romania, Serbia and Hungary). Lead partner of the project is the Nimfea – Environment and Nature Conservation Association.
