REGIONAL ADMINISTRATION OF LAKE RESTORATION INITIATIVES

Economic values of clean and safe water are well established. Tourism is important economic industry in the recreation areas of lakes. However, despite remarkable investments in wastewater treatment, water quality is still highly affected by external and internal factors, such as sediments, agriculture and other diffuse sources, as well as climate change impacts. The objective of the LakeAdmin project is to improve the effectiveness of regional development policies, especially in relation to water management issues, especially in the field of restoration and management of natural and artificial lakes and reservoirs.

Partnership: 10 organisations from 9 countries (Finland, Czech Republic, Greece, Estonia, Italy, Denmark, Ireland, Malta and Hungary). Lead partner of the project is the Finnish Environment Institute.
