JOINT PLANNING AND COOPERATION FOR LONG-TERM DEVELOPMENT IN THE CROSS- BORDER REGION

The main objective of the project was to ensure appropriate background for the development of the cross-border region through joint planning activities and close cooperation for the elaboration of planning documents. Due to the joint planning activities, the project contributes to strengthen the cooperation of experts working in the border area and to share knowledge and best practices.

The Lake Balaton Development Coordination Agency, in cooperation with the Regional Development Agency of Zala County, prepared the concept on scientific decision support network and the study of TDM in Zala County. In addition, together with the Croatian partners a joint planning document was elaborated. Related to the topics of the studies, the Agency organized a two-day study tour for the project partners and other regional stakeholders with the aim of introducing best practices for them.

Partnership: 4 organisations from 2 countries (Croatia and Hungary), from Croatia the Regional Development Agency of Međimurje, leading and coordinating the project and the Tourist Board of Međimurje County, while from Hungary the Lake Balaton Development Coordination Agency and the Regional Development Agency of Zala County.
